U-Turn For Christ is a residential addiction rehabilitation program dealing with men who are seeking restoration from drug and alcohol addiction, through our Lord Jesus Christ. We are based entirely on the Word of God, the Bible, and get all counsel from it. It has been our experience that with a solid grounding in the Bible and good Christian living skills, numerous men and women have been able to become productive, vital members of their community. Our primary focus is to establish or strengthen a relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus is the only way to true freedom from the bondage of the sin of addiction.
During Phase 1 of our program, the men are in up to 5 bible studies per day. Also, the men spend their day involved in work and chores either on the property or at one of the locations where we volunteer in the community.
Ephesians 4:28 states, “He who steals must steal no longer; but rather he must labor, preforming with his own hands what is good, so that he will have something to share with one who has need.” This is why we work unto the Lord and not for personal gain. This enables the men to benefit from learning strong and disciplined work ethics.
Every evening is spent gathering once again to close the day right, in the Word of God. Various Calvary Chapel pastors and leaders serve the program and spend their time feeding “His sheep” throughout the week.
In Phase 1, the men live dormitory style in mobile homes. This type of housing promotes healthy fellowship. The Word of God says, “as iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend” (Proverbs 27:17) Also, with these arrangements, the men develop vital communication skills.
Many have asked how we can have men from such diverse backgrounds living in such close quarters without constantly dealing with fights. The answer is Jesus! Who else could bring a broad variety of personalities and characters together in unity? Only by the Spirit of God can these men be united.
“Therefore I, the prisoner of the Lord, implore you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing tolerance for one another in love, being diligent to preserve the unity of the spirit, just as also you were called in one hope of your calling.” – Ephesians 4:1-4
Once the men have completed week 2 in the program, family is encouraged to come out and visit them on Sundays. The men have the opportunity to take advantage of phase 2 upon completion of the ranch phase for an additional 6 months of growing and training. This is an optional part of the ministry that is strongly recommended. All court referrals must complete at least 8 months without exception! If the court is not willing to make it mandatory then we will not accept the individual.
